Walk a Mile in Her Shoes

Saturday, October 15 at Malone University

Registration Starts at 9:30 am

Join Domestic Violence Project Inc. to Walk a Mile in Her Shoes: The International Men’s March to Stop Rape, Sexual Assault & Gender Violence. Malone University will be the location of our event and all of their male athletes are registered to walk. This walk is a great opportunity for men to educate about domestic violence and to rally the community to take action to prevent abuse.

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes provides several opportunities to get people talking. This event fosters prevention education and healing. It helps men better understand and appreciate women’s experiences, which helps improve gender relationships and decreases the potential for violence. Members of the community become informed on the services that are available at DVPI for recovery. This walk demonstrates that men are willing and able to be courageous partners with women in making the world a safer place.

This walk for awareness will require our male participants to walk one mile in women’s shoes. The preference is for those shoes to be high heeled but it is not required.

Registration is $20 per walker and registrations can be sent to jessicak@dvpi.org. Your registration should include contact information, including name, address and telephone number
