Donation Opportunities

Outright Gifts
An outright gift may include cash, appreciated securities, personal property, appreciated real estate and life insurance. Funds received from this type of gift are immediately available for our charitable activities, or you may earmark the funds for a specific charitable activity.

Outright Gifts of Cash
Cash gifts include cash, check, credit card, and electronic funds transfers. If you itemize on your tax return, cash gifts are generally deductible up to 50% of your adjusted gross income. Amounts that exceed this limit can be carried forward up to five additional years.

Outright Gifts of Securities
Gifts of long-term appreciated stock or mutual funds offer a quick, easy, and tax-efficient way to support Domestic Violence Project, avoid capital gains tax as well as receive an income tax deduction for the appreciated value.

Outright Gifts of Real Estate
Domestic Violence Project will accept many types of real estate gifts. These gifts allow you to avoid capital gains tax and receive an income tax deduction. Gifts of real estate are donated to DVP with your understanding that they will be sold and the proceeds will be used to support of our mission, unless it meets a specific need.  We reserve the right to refuse property if it isn't the agency's best interest.

Outright Gifts of Personal Property
When you donate tangible property such as jewelry, artwork or rare stamps and coins, you receive a charitable income tax deduction and reduce your taxable estate. We will either use your property or sell it and use the proceeds to fund our charitable efforts.

Cash/Check/or Credit Card

Planned Giving/Endowments/Wills/Bequests -  we suggest you talk to your attorney in regards to these kinds of gifts.  Please let us know of your bequest.

Honorarium/Memorial Gifts

  • Grocery Items: mac & cheese, ravioli, spaghettios, etc., jelly, peanut butter, canned fruit, cereal, sugar, drink mixes, Koolaid canned, mayonnaise, catsup, canned frostings, coffee, crackers, drink mixes, canned drinks, spaghetti sauce, noodles, pasta, tuna fish, canned chicken, chicken noodle soup, coffee,
  • Cleaning Products: bleach, Pine Sol, disinfectant wipes, dish detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent and dryer sheets
  • Miscellaneous: Aluminum foil, Saran Wrap, sandwich bags, large storage bags, trash bags
  • Toiletries: hairspray and conditioners, African-American hair care products, new hair brushes, safety razors, hand/body lotions (all in full sizes), deodorant 
  • New socks/ underwear for women (in small sizes)
  • Other items: new pillows, new crib sheets, new twin sheets, new twin bed blankets, new bath towels and wash cloths
  • Rugs for bathrooms and bedrooms for Western Stark County Shelter
  • Pictures for walls in bedrooms for Western Stark County Shelter
  • Baby items: diapers size 4 and up, baby wipes
  • Gift Certificates: (prefer in $10 and $25 amounts)
    • Grocers (Fishers, Giant Eagle, etc.)
    • Discount department stores (WalMart, Target, KMart, etc.)
    • Office supply stores (Office Max)
    • Home improvement stores
    • Gas cards
  • Used cell phones to recycle for fundraising and 9-1-1 calls
  • Office/Bldg. Supplies: reams of printer paper, large envelopes (9x12), postal stamps, gift certificates to Office Max, paper towels, toilet paper
  • Cleaning Supplies for shelter 
  • Extension Ladder

Our greatest need now is financial.  If you would like to sponsor a monthly utility bill or make another type of monetary contribution it would be greatly appreciated.

  • We are not in need of any clothing at this time.
