- Children who witness their mothers being battered are:
- 6 times more likely to commit suicide
- 24 times more likely to commit sexual assault
- Male children who experience domestic violence are 1,000 times more likely to repeat it.
- Battering often begins or escalates during pregnancy and causes more birth defects thanaccidents and illness combined.
- Battering is the single major cause of injury & death to women.
- One-third of all police time is spent responding to DV calls.
