A little change goes a long way in helping the lives of others

Domestic Violence Project, Inc. will be launching their “House of Hope-Mile of Quarters” fundraiser which is projected to raise $16,600.00, the total amount that a one-mile long line of quarters would represent.  Volunteers and sponsors will be collecting dollars and spare change at various locations around Stark County.  Local businesses, schools, churches and colleges will be participating including thirty stores at Westfield Mall and all National City Bank branches.  Also sponsoring the event is WHOF 101.7 FM.  GlenOak High School National Honor Society and Key Club is challenging other local high school groups to beat the amount they raise for this event.  One hundred percent of the money collected will go back to fund teen and children’s education programs in schools for the purpose of awareness and prevention of domestic violence.

The collection period will begin April 1 and end May 17 with a wrap up event at Westfield Mall.  Amy Malone from 101.7 FM will emcee at the mall event which will include plaques and awards to participants, speakers and other entertainment.  A $100 gift certificate will also be given away.  Tickets for the give away will be sold at the event at the mall.
